Punjab govt kicks protesting doctors out of jobs

Lahore: The Punjab government has sacked all the protesting doctors affiliated with the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA), calling in Army Medical Corps to the hospital of province.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, media wing of the army, said on Saturday that the army had provided 150 doctors who would render their service in different hospitals of the province on the request of the Punjab government.

According to reports   YDA comprised more than a thousands doctors in major districts of Punjab.

Earlier, YDA Spokesman Hamid Butt told media that the doctors would continue their protest until their demands were met.

He said the doctors would besiege Chief Minister House on  Thursday, adding that the doctors had not been demanding increase in salaries instead they were asking for service structure.
