A BlogSpot blog called 24musicvdo.blogspot.in reported on June 26 that “Amitabh Bachan died in a car crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell.”
“He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident,” the report continued.
News of Bachchan’s death caused panic amongst fans of the 69-year old star. Twitter, Blackberry Messenger (BBM) and other networking sites were completely abuzz with the reports before social media users realized that the news was fake.
The blogpost went on to give details about the superstar’s funeral also.
“Memorial services for Amitabh Bachan have not yet been announced. The service is expected to be a closed casket funeral due to the severe head trauma. Additional details and information will be forthcoming as they become available.”
