Islamabad: As many as five candidates from different political parties have submitted their nomination papers to contest for the slot of prime minister.

Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Raja Pervez Ashraf have filed nomination papers as Pakistan People’s Party candidate for the slot while Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Sardar Mehtab Abbasi are the candidates of the Jamiat Ulemai Islam-Fazl and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz receptively.

Deadline for submitting the nomination papers has ended.
