Islamabad: All coalition partners of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) met under the chairmanship of President Asif Ali Zardari at President House Islamabad and handed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) the mandate to decide on a candidate for election as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan.
In a statement issued on Thursday after the meeting of coalition parties, the Presidential spokesman Farhat Ullah Babar said that the coalition parties have given complete mandate to PPP, in order to nominate the candidate for PM.
” The announcement of the candidate would be made by PPP leader Khursheed Shah on Friday (tomorrow) at 11 am,” the spokesman added.
Sources said that President Asif Ali Zardari has informed allied parties leaders regarding the nomination of Raja Pervez Ashraf for the slot of premiership.
Earlier PML-Q Leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Pervaiz Elahi, MQM leader Farooq Sattar , Babar Ghori, ANP leader Afrasiyab Khattak, BNP Leader Israr Ullah Zehri, FATA leader Munir Orakzai and others participated in the meeting to finalize the name for the candidate of next PM.
