US artist Tupac Shakur would have celebrated his forty-first birthday on June 16 had he not been shot dead in 1996 on a Las Vegas street.
His birthday has been celebrated in the San Francisco Bay Area, ‘The Jungle’, where he used to live with his mother
As a teenager, Tupac and his mother moved there, to Marin City, in 1988 where he formed the rap group Strictly Dope, Forbes reported.
Oakland’s Digital Underground is commemorating Tupac on his birthday in a live show dedicated to him.
Tupac died in a hospital aged 25 a week after he had been shot dead on September, 7 1996 near the Las Vegas Strip.
It is still unknown who carried out the shooting.
