Islamabad: MediaGate takes new turn after the announcement of Arshad Shareef, Dunya news anchor, that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters initiated and shared the list allegedly involving 19 journalists who took bribe from Malik Riaz, Bahria Town’s chairman.
Arshad Sharif disclosed that Dr Awab Alvi (Son of Dr Arif Alvi, General Secretery PTI and main person behind PTI’s social media campaign), shared fack list first time on micro-blogging site Twitter and today (Friday) PTI leadership apologized me.
Earlier PTI secretary Information Shafqat Mehmood has said that “Anyone’s private tweets are not party responsibility. PTI has the highest regard for media.”
Dr Awab, a political bloger and social media activist said in his tweet that Dunya TV need to investigate further to find the real source.

PTI Leaders and activists denied the allegation and said that “On 7th June 2012 ,a fake account on the name of Aitzaz Ahsan shared this list on his twitter account saying that he doesn’t know if its authentic or not but wouldn’t be surprised at all if its true.”
On Friday, Awab Alvi along with PTI General Secretary Dr Arif Alvi and Information Secretary Shafqat Mehmood met Google Chairman Eric Schmidt in Lahore, a metropolitan of Pakistan. After the meeting Alvi tweeted that soon he would reveal the facts regarding fake lists of journalists.
