Karachi: Omar Yaqoob Sheikh has been promoted as Managing Director of Shell Pakistan Limited for the period of next three years.
He will assume the top office on August 1st in the place of Sarim Sheikh who resigned from Shell after long association with the oil marketing giant.
Omar is Director of Shell Pakistan and working currently as General Manager Lubricants of Shell Pakistan Ltd. He has two master degrees in business administration from INSEAD and Institute of Business Administration (IBA).

Omar Sheikh has pursued his successful career at Shell. He joined the company in 1995 soon after completion of his first MBA and played various roles in in retail, commercial lubricants and downstream strategy portfolios in Pakistan and overseas. He also worked at Shell International Ltd in London with senior downstream leadership on developing business strategy and implementing portfolio transactions.

Sarim Sheikh
Sarim Sheikh who became MD of Shell Pakistan last year in July has decided to quit the company for personal reasons.
He played a tremendous role of managing operations of Shell in 55 countries as Shell’s General Manager of Distributor Markets – Europe & South America.
