Shahbaz works in tent, his cabinet in air-conditioned office

Lahore: With a not so little  boasting of giving up using air conditioners and operating provincial affairs from tent office by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, his cabinet and high-ups of the province keep on using luxuries in their offices.

“This all seems to be a media campaign to gain political mileage,” sources in the provincial government say.

Shahbaz Sharif, who is very vocal against skyrocketing power outages, repeatedly say the he and his cabinet member are performing their duties from temporarily set up tent office at historic Minari-Pakistan.

The instructions of chief minister of Punjab, the most populated province of the country, are being implemented only at CM house; otherwise all other provincial offices are freely defying the orders of not using electric appliances.

According to sources, Principal Staff Officer of CM Punjab Nadeem Husain Asif, Secretary Coordination Dr. Tauqeer and other officials are performing task from their air-conditioned offices.

The members of Punjab cabinet inlcuding Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, Iqbal Chinter, Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Nadeem Kamran, Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, Ahmed Ali Olakh, Rana Sanaullah and Rana Asif Mahmud are using their offices.

“These ministers use tent offices only when they call media for any press briefing.”

Special Assistant of CM Khwaja Salman Rafiq and Zaeem Hussain Qadri are also using air-condition in clear defiance of instructions of Shahbaz Sharif.
