Karachi: A number of female students of Civil Hospital Nursing School is being sexually abused while others are being forced to make friendships with older staffers of the medical facility, a widely circulated Urdu daily reported on Saturday.
The newspaper asserted that elements of the People’s Paramedical Staff, a wing of the Pakistan People’s Party, has been patronizing such activities.
It said that some teachers are also involved in the heinous crime and several students have left their studies after being sexually assaulted are being pregnant.
The female teachers forced students to make friendship with PPS members and office bearers of others so-called worker unions, operating in the hospital. Those students who succumbed to the pressure are exempted from their duties.
The newspaper said PPS members and some other union office bearers spent their nights with nurses during their duty times and senior students of the school often remained absence from the hostel.
The newspaper said a notorious gang of Abbas Tinda, affiliated with the PPS, is involved in the sexual exploitation of the students and nurses.
Some students while talking to the newspaper on the condition of anonymity told that teachers at the school often remained absence.
The students appreciated Nasrin Gul, vice chairman Nusing Association, for her efforts against the hooliganism of PPS.
