Karachi: A four-member ministerial committee constituted to help improve law and order situation in Karachi, met the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leadership at the latter’s headquarters Nine Zero.
The Federal Cabinet on May 23 had formed the committee comprising federal ministers Makhdoom Amin Fahim (chairman), Syed Khurshid Shah, Syed Naveed Qamar and Mola Bux Chandio in the wake of the attack at Awami Tehreek rally in Karachi.
While addressing to media after the meeting, Amin Fahim said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and MQM are working for the lasting peace in the province, specially Karachi.
“The issue of employments in Sindh would be settled through talks,” he said.
On the occasion, MQM leader Raza Haroon said that Karachi is a peace-loving city and we are concerned about criminals not being arrested.
Earlier in talks held at the Sindh Governor House, MQM expressed reservations over a meeting between PPP’s local leadership and chief of banned Peoples Aman Committee (PAC) Uzair Baloch.
