Chennai: The Chennai Super Kings has proved themselves the best as they hammered Delhi Daredevils by 86 runs in the second qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) played at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, India, ultimately qualifying consecutively for the third time in the tournament’s final.
The Delhi Daredevils batting line was ruined by Chennai’s outclass bowling and thus while chasing a huge target of 223 runs all players were sent back to the dressing room at the score of 136 runs in 17th over. Jayawardene who scored 55 runs remained the only batsman who survived against the Delhi bowlers with Taylor scoring 24 runs. The other batsmen failed to cross 20’s.
The Chennai bowlers bowled exceptionally well and remained on top of the batsmen in the whole inning. Ashwin who took three wickets remained the leading wicket taker followed by Jakati two, while Hilfenhaus, Morkel and Bravo shared one wicket each.
Earlier Murali Vijay’s ton (113 runs) helped Chennai to set a huge target of 223 runs.
