Ipoh: New Zealand hockey team on Thursday beat India by 5-1 in second match of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia.
New Zealand were provided lead by Simon Child in 6th minute but after few seconds India’s Shivendra Singh scored equaliser for the country. India played delightful hockey but failed to create chanced in the first half.
Kiwi’s Andy Hayward scored another goal for New Zealand just a minute before halftime.
The black sticks dominated second half and hit three more goals to clinch 5-1 win. Nick Wilson, Stephen Jenness and Matt L’hullier were the other scorer for the winners.
Earlier, in first match of the cup Pakistan defeated Argentina by 4-2 and registered first win.
