Islamabad: Lieutenant (retd) Gen Ali  Kuli Khan Khattak has  joined the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), sources told The News Tribe  on Tuesday.

 Sources said Kuli Khan would make the announcement during a press conference along with PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Khan resigned from the army 1998 when Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif promoted his junior officer Lt. Gen Pervez Musharraf to the rank of Chief of the Army Staff who eventually toppled his government in Oct 1999.

General  Khan in a scathing review brushed off Musharraf’s claim of  claim of Kargil War victory as a military success,as fictitious, and termed the debacle as the biggest tragedy of Pakistan even bigger than East Pakistan.
