Mumbai: The Mumbai police on Sunday raided a five star hotel (plush hotel in Juhu) and arrested almost 100 people including Indian Premier League (IPL) players and Bollywood stars alleged of using drugs.
According to Indian media reports the police raided on a birthday party going on in a five star hotel and arrested high profile figures from IPL and Bollywood. The police also seized drugs from the participants of the party.
“IPL player Rahul Sharma was among 100, arrested from hotel,” report said adding that 19 foreigners were also arrested by Mumbai police.
The police have not yet confirmed the names of people arrested as many influential people were among the arrested.
Additional commissioner of police, west region, Vishwas Nangre Patil confirmed that two IPL players were at the party. He, however said that no one would be arrested until the medical tests proved they had consumed drugs.
The police shifted all the detainees to a local hospital in Mumbai in order to take their drug test.
