Islamabad: On uttering ‘indecent’ words about Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan’s close friend, Rector of International Islamic University, Islamabad has been sent on ‘vacations.’
According to local news agency INP, Fateh Muhammad Malik used indecent words against the kingdom and its leadership while meeting with a delegation belonging to a country considered to be anti-Saudi state.
Just after the meeting, ambassador of Saudi Arabia complained to the president Asif Ali Zardari and sent tape recording as a proof to the presidency.
Malik is also a leading literary critic, chairman of the Pakistani National Language Authority and an expert of Iqbaliat (Study of Iqbal).
According to the agency, at first the president terminated Fateh Malik but later on the intervention of Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik sent him on vacation.
“Deputy chairman of National Data Registration Authority (NADRA) Tariq Malik, who is son Fateh Malik, approached Rehman Malik to stop termination of his father,” it added.
Vice Chancellor of Quad-e-Azam University Dr. Masom Yasin Zai has been give additional charge of Islamic University.
During period of Fateh Malik, many scandals hit the university, recognized internationally as a quality institute, damaging its image.
