London: For his efforts for a free and transparent judiciary in the country, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will get International Jursits Award on May 28.
The president of Supreme Court of United Kingdom Lord Philips would honor Chaudhry during International Conference of Jurists to be held in London on May 28-29.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry put up great resistance against former military ruler Gen Peevez Musharraf that led to restoration of democracy in Pakistan after nine years of tyranny.
He was deposed by the military dictator in March,2007 when he refused to relinquish the post.
Former Defence Minister of India Malaim Singh Yadev will also be getting the award on his social services for the society.
