Alauddin’s 29th death anniversary today

Karachi: The 29th death anniversary of actor Alauddin, who ruled the Pakistan film industry for many decades, is being observed across the country.

He was famous as ‘Papa Gee’ in the film world.

Before the creation of Pakistan, he tried his luck in the Indian film industry as a singer.  When Pakistan came into existence he moved to Pakistan.

Till 1980, he performed in hundreds of movies as hero, villain and character actor. His accent and style was emulated by several actors but he remained unmatched.

A Dilip Kumar’s movie namely ‘Mela’ had really become his identity. In the movie he performed as father of Indian celebrity Nargis. In ‘Patay Khan’ he was at his peak as an actor. Zarqa, ‘Tees Mar Khan’, ‘Chacha Khamkhaw’, ‘Kartar Singh,Koal’ are among his most celebrated movies. Alauddin was indulged in state of despair after the death of his only son.

Since he was among the pioneers of the Pakistani film industry, his name will be remembered for ever.
