Mumbai: Arjun Munda, the CM of Indian state Jharkhand, has suffered minor injuries when his helicopter crashed during the course of landing at the Ranchi airport on Wednesday.
Munda’s wife Meera was also on board the helicopter. The CM was on his way from Saraikela and was landing at the Birsa Munda Airport, when the chopper he was travelling crashed.
Following the crash, the security forces cordoned off the airport while the rescue teams rushed the CM to the Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences as a precautionary measure. The exact reason for the crash is yet to be ascertained. But preliminary reports suggest that the chopper developed a technical snag minutes before landing.
The chopper was completely destroyed due to the impact of the crash and luckily the chopper did not catch fire that might have caused casualties. TV visuals show that the helicopter turned turtle.
