Talking to Bloomberg, Pachter said, “Mark and his signature hoodie? I mean, he’s actually showing investors he doesn’t care that much, he’s going to be him, and he’s gonna do what he’s always done, and I think that’s a mark of immaturity.”
“I think that he has to realize he’s bringing investors in as a new constituency right now, and I think he’s got to show them the respect that they deserve because he’s asking them for their money.”
However, Pachter also had some praise for the 27-year-old Zuckerberg. He said, “He most certainly is a genius, and he really has done something that no one else can do.” But again he said, “I’m not sure he’s the right guy to run a corporation and have to answer to shareholders. If he does that well, then the stock is going to work fantastically well, if he doesn’t its going to stall.”
But it doesn’t mean that Zuckerberg hasn’t got formal suits other than hoodies and pyjamas. He wore a coat and ties when he met US President Barack Obama last year, and even wore a full suit for last year’s Tech Titans dinner at the White House and when he met former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
But the question is will Zuckerberg pay heed to Pachter’s comments? Hardly.
