Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif has said that President Asif Ali Zardari violated Charter of Democracy (CoD) and all the promises made by Benazir Bhutto.

Speaking to journalists and editors on Monday, he said that Zardari’s ill intention about judiciary was clear from the beginning. He said that he challenged the PPP government didn’t accept the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He said this attitude would cause destruction.

The former prime minister said that loadshedding, inflation and poverty were on rise as they were in Mushraff rule.

He said that had the PML-N not launched movement, the judiciary would have not been restored.

To a question, he said that it was a good sign Gen Kayani played any role in the reinstatement of the Supreme Court judges.

“We didn’t want to repeat politics of 80s and 90s but the government forced us to do so,” he said.
