London: Carolina Terzis is thought to be the smallest surviving baby in Brazil, weighting just 340.19gm (12oz) and measuring 27cm tall.
The baby was miraculously survived being born four months premature.
“Her mum Alexandra, 32, who gave birth in November five months into pregnancy when she had a seizure and symptoms of eclampsia, took her pocket sized youngster home for the first time this week,” Daily Mail reported.
Carolina miraculously survived with the help of doctors at Hospital Vila da Serra, near Nova Lima in the state of Minas Gerais.
In 2010, Amelia Hope Burden and her brother Arthur, from Bournemouth, became the youngest premature twins to survive in the UK.
Amelia Hope was born at just 23 weeks and two days into pregnancy as weighed just 1lb 20oz. Arthur followed at just over 24 weeks and weighted 1lb 40z.
