IPL 2012: Deccan on a losing row; Bangalore wins by five wickets

Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Deccan Chargers by five wickets in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) played at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, India.

The Bangalore chase a huge target of 182 runs in the 19th over for the loss of five wickets. AB de Villiers was the star of the match as he played a blustering innings of 47 runs in 17 balls. Dilshan who scored 71 was the leading run-scorer for Bangalore followed by Chris Gayle 26. Th other batsmen failed to cross 20’s.

The Deccan bowlers failed to stop Bangalore batsmen including de Villiers who played brilliant shorts all round the ground. Amit Mishra who took two wickets was the leading wicket taker followed by Singh, Rajan and Reddy who shared one wicket each.

Earlier 73 runs by Dhawan followed by Cameron White and Danniel Harris’s 45 and 47 runs respectively helped Deccan to set a huge target of 182 runs.
