Washington: LazyTown, Turner Broadcasting’s preschool series, has started production on its third season in Iceland.
The new season will be broadcast next year on Turner Broadcasting System (TBS)-owned children’s channels, following its acquisition by TBS last year.
Chloe Lang, a new character, will play aspiring dancer Stephanie, while lead character Sportacus and villain Robbie Rotten will also be seen in the series.
“I‘m happy and honoured to take on this role and very excited to have the opportunity to live in Iceland for the next few months and work with the LazyTown crew,” said Chloe.
Furthermore, TBS will broadcast seasons one and two before the third goes out in early 2013. Season two debuted on Nick Jr in the US on May 16, 2006.
“The new TV series promises to be even bigger and better than before and will play an important role in our plans to build up and extend our preschool channel Cartoonito,” said TBS EMEA’s chief content officer Michael Carrington.
Turner’s Studio in Atlanta, which has produced Ben 10 and Level Up, will create the special effects.
Despite the lengthy gap between the productions, the show has continued to be broadcast across the globe and will soon be back in US television.
