Islamabad: Pakistan’s most respected politician and now president of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf Makhdoom Javed has tendered apology on contesting polls of 2008.
“I had to contest despite boycott from All Pakistan Democratic Alliance due to Pakistan Muslim League N’s Nawaz Sharif,” he said.
Before 2008 elections, all parties including Nawaz League in APDM, an anti-Pervez Musharraf coalition, agreed to boycott the polls, but at the last moment Nawaz Sharif decided that his party would take part in the elections.
Sitting with PTI chairman Imran Khan, Hashmi disclosed PML-N leaders including Raja Zafarul Haq, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Tehmina Daultana and other senior leaders promised to APDM that they would not leave the alliance at any cost.
“We would leave Nawaz Sharif but not APDM and we would abide by boycott announced ,” he quoted words of all senior leaders before 2008 elections.
“I feel sorry to tell that we all leave APDM and became helpless before Sharif to contest in the elections.”
“I tender my apology to all parties of the alliance and at least I feel ashamed on my decision at that time.”
Javed Hasmi noted from that moment he had lost his loyalty from PML-N.
