Islamabad: A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement called on Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday.
The delegation was led by federal minister Dr Farooq Sattar and comprising, Babar Ghauri, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab, Dr Sagheer Ahmed and others.
The MQM expressed solidarity with the prime minister and applauded his stance for what it said stability of democracy.
Political commentators say the meetings was the indication that the alliance between the MQM and the PPP will continue in the future. They said the meeting also countered increasing pressure over the prime minister after his conviction.
