Islamabad: After being convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in contempt case, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has paid fee to his lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan for pleading his case.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister House on Monday, Mr Gilani dispatched a cheque of Rs100 to Mr Aitzaz Ahsan along with a letter.
The statement noted that the prime minister applauded Mr Ahsan for his services for the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution.
Ahsan had announced to receive Rs100 as token fee for contesting Gilani’s case. According to sources, Aitzaz Ahsan would frame the cheque that will be shown on the wall of his drawing room.
