Islamabad: Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that verdict against the Prime Minister was given by a seven-judge bench and three of them would not be included in the nine-member bench that would hear appeal against its verdict .
He was speaking at Sibbi Bar on Tuesday. The CJ, however, didn’t mention the names of the three judges and said that the judges would not hear the appeal for some reasons.
The chief justice said that those, who were staging drams were saying there was no procedure to hire new judges on ad hoc basis.
He said the procedure was enshrined in article 181 and 182 of the Constitution.
Mr Chaudhry said that an ad hoc and two additional judges would be hired to complete the bench.He said that the judiciary was restored by the struggle of people and lawyers, adding that hard work was needed to strengthen the judiciary
