Islamabad:  The 16th National Women Basket Ball championship begun on yesterday (Friday) at Hamidi Hall of Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.

The five-day event is being organised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). Eight teams are taking part in the competition, including Pakistan WAPDA, Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, Khyber Paktunkhaw (KPK), Pakistan Railways, Rangers and Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Eight teams including Pakistan WAPDA Punjab Sindh Islamabad Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Railways Rangers and Higher Education Commission were participating in the five-day event. The Championship was organizing by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Closing ceremony will be held at Bahria University Islamabad on May 1.
