Karachi: At least six  people including a police man have been killed and ten others injured as police and Frontier Constabulary (FC)  launched targeted operation against criminal elements in Lyari  area of Karachi on Friday.

According to reports, the operation began  in the wee hours of Thursday with law enforcers mounting pressure over the gangsters to lay down arms all over the day.

Crime Investigation Department (CID) SSP Chaudhry Aslam was overseeing the operation.

Three people were injured in the Agra Taj Colony when an unknown attacker hurled hand grenades.

Lyari remained completely shut on Friday and people remained indoors.
