Islamabad: United States special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Marc Grossman called on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani separately on Friday and discussed issues related to bilateral relations with special focus on the recommendations approved by the Pakistani parliament to reshape relations with the United States.
The US envoy discussed with the president situation in Afghanistan and regional peace and Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Earlier, he met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh were also present during the occasion.
The US envoy has been busy in Islamabad since Thursday to persuade the Pakistani leadership to reopen Nato supplies.
