PPP struggling for Pakistan:President Zardari

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has termed the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) “battle” with the Supreme Court of Pakistan as struggle for the country.

Talking to Dunya News, a private television channel, he said that PPP struggle was not a struggle for its own rather it was four the sake of country.

 Meanwhile, a high level meeting of Pakistan People’s Party leadership was held at the President House to review the situation emerging after the conviction of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The PPP leaders said that an elected Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was punished for his efforts for the supremacy of law and the Constitution.

According to a statement issued by the President House, participants of  meeting felicitated the prime minister for sticking with the Constitution with “courage and prestige” .

The statement said that the participants regretted the Supreme Court orders. They also applauded Senator Aitzaz Ahsan for his “services”.

The meeting decided to cope with the new challenges by Constitutional means.
