Islamabad: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani chaired a special meeting of federal cabinet to review situation emerging after his conviction in contempt of court.
Speaking on the occasion, Gilani said that he always respected courts and never insult them.
Earlier the cabinet members welcomed the premier by desk thumping and expressing solidarity when he arrived to chair the meeting.
Gilani said that the Pakistan People’s Party always abide by the Constitution of Pakistan.
According to reports, Law Minister Farooq H Naik briefed the cabinet about repercussions of the Supreme Court orders.
