Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday reserved verdict in contempt of court case against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and would give the judgement on Thursday.

The court also summoned the prime minister as Attorney General Irfan Qadir and Aitzaz Ahsan, counsel for Gilani, completed arguments.

Attorney General Irfan Qadir told the Supreme Court that the government had lied about the implementation of NRO verdict.

He told a seven-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk hearing contempt case against Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, that he could not find evidence against the prime minister and he could not be punished for contempt of court case.

He said the NRO verdict of the SC was not fully implemented and he would inform the court to what extent it was implemented.

Justice Nasirul Mulk said that the government had told the court that NRO judgment was fully implement except one paragraph.

The court asked the AG to give his opinion as to how the matter should be resolved.

The AG said that cases against President Asif Ali Zardari could not be reopened in the Switzerland even if a letter was written in this regard.
