Lahore: Successfully dodging ‘smart’ police officials, Sheesha Club owners have freely ‘quenching’ thirst of their loyal customers with fruity Sheesha flavors.

“Open space near Sheesha Clubs, special rooms and roofs are new sources for Sheesha addicted youth now in Lahore,” it is emerged.

Sheesha is already prohibited in Karachi, Lahore and other parts of the country after reports of illegal and illicit activities at Sheesha clubs.

Direct Influence to police high-ups, use of money tactics and force are new tools being used by Sheesha club owners to run their spots despite strict restrictions against use of Sheesha drug.

Sheshha is a waterpipe use to smoke flavoured tobacco. It puts Sheesha smookers at risk of the same kind of diseases as are caused by cigarette smoking, including cancer, heart disease, respiratory disease and adverse effects during pregnancy.

Sources privy to Sheesha clubs reveal some local police officials have assured the club owners that they can keep their business going if no complain emerges.

 “Even some Station House Officers (SHOs) of various police stations express their helplessness to take any action against water tobacco owing to amazing influence of Sheesha club owners.

 “If any brave police officer try to nab these Sheesha club owner, he immediately calls from highly placed officials and political personalities to releases ‘innocent’ people.

Some police officials have been suspended on interrupting ‘enjoyment’ of Sheesha lovers.

Most popular Sheesha clubs attracting a large number of youths include Gloria Jeans Café Rock, Zauq Café, Sozoq, Fashion World, Al-Nahl in Jauhar town, Spin Bar at Main Boulevard Gulberg.

 Young boys and girls from elite areas can be seen at these clubs coming fearlessly to ‘enjoy’ flavoured tobacco.

 Sheesha smoke contains high levels of chemicals and poisons, including carbon monoxide,

tar and heavy metals. Many of these chemicals are known to cause mouth and lung cancers, heart disease, respiratory and other diseases.
