Why I Join PTI? Dr. Shireen Mazari Tells!

Print Friendly and PDF

“For years I have been a social and political activist in Pakistan; having been the Media Spokesperson of Pakistan Youth Alliance, Media Spokesperson of Zimmedar Shehri (Responsible Citizens), participating on local and international TV and Radio Talk Shows, working with Flood Victims and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and writing in blogs and newspapers.

Despite this independent position I have always held, not having any affiliations with Pakistani Political Parties, I realized it was time to finally enter the system and make a change.

The most honest, clean and sincere platform I could choose was Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.

Regardless of my minor disagreements on micro-issues with some people within the PTI, my policy objectives for Pakistan are in line with the party’s manifesto.

I believe it is time for Pakistani politics to develop in a truly democratic fashion – through elections on a manifesto-oriented basis.

Gradually, this change can occur, if more of us join parties with honest leadership, where we can contribute for the development of our long-exploited nation.

My commitment to Pakistan is one I had made a long time ago, and nothing will make me compromise on my principles. In fact, with the help of our party workers, I wish to bring PTI to the forefront, where we can help all those in need.”
