‘Life is a source of learning for me’, says Taz

Tarsame Singh Saini aka (Taz: Stereo Nation) doesn’t need any introduction for readers and fans. His music is best defined as a rocking fusion of traditional Asian and Western pop, with its dynamic melodies and catching tunes. He talked about his new album ‘Desi & U Know it’ and himself too. While talking to The News Tribe, he was like:

The News Tribe (TNT): What is your philosophy of life?

Taz: Live and let live……Peace, Love and harmony to all. ONE WORLD, ONE LOVE, ONE LIFE. We are all but the same deep down, so respect everyone’s beliefs and for who and what they are. Life’s a party, so keep smiling and do not leave home without your dancing shoes. Work hard and play hard.

TNT: What is your secret ambition?

Taz: It is to become a very successful music director for Bollywood & Hollywood.

TNT: What are your biggest crushes?

Taz: Lucy Lui, Salma Hayek & Halle Berry.

TNT: Your favorite musicians:

Taz: Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Gurdass Maan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, RD Burman, Mohammed Rafi, Prince, Sukhwinder Singh, Kuldip Manak, Mohammed Sadique, George Michael, James Brown, Jagmohan Kaur, Naseebo Lal & Shaukat Ali Khan.

TNT: With whom you would love to perform?

Taz: Beyonce, Pittbull, Snoop Dog & A.R Rahman

TNT: What are some of the things that you hate about music industry?

Taz:

1. Piracy (people file sharing)

2. Composers in Bollywood who steal directly from songs from the west and claim that they have written them. (Plagiarism)

3. People that take advantage of new artists, make false promises, build up their hopes and then do not deliver.

4. Back biters who are nice on your face and act different when you turn your back. Basically, these are the people who are jealous of your success.

TNT: What’s your favorite movie? Also tell about your favorite actors and songs.

Taz: ‘Sholay’ and ‘Reservoir Dogs’ are my favorite films. My favorite actors are Amitabh Bachchan, Sandra Bullock, Jason Stratham, Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis, Salman Khan, Al Pacino, John Travolta, Sigourney Weaver & Halle Berry. My favorite song is ‘Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough’ by Michael Jackson.

TNT: What characteristics attract you as a person?

Taz: Being humble and giving importance to those who are not as fortunate as you are. It is being honest, loving, caring and respecting people from all walks of life.

TNT: As a kid you were:

Taz: I was mischievous and a little naughty at school, but smart enough to get my work done. I was never a teacher’s pet, but more like the pain in the teacher’s neck.

TNT: Your Craziest Fan:

Taz: It was a wheel chaired special child traveling by the rough country roads of East Africa from Mombasa to Nairobi for eight hours to come and see my show.

TNT: What are music and success according to you?

Taz: Music is the food of life, so let it play on and success to me is being happy with what you have and a happy family. Also health is your biggest wealth.

TNT: Favorite Food:

Taz: I love ‘Makai ki Roti’, ‘Sarson ka Saag’, ‘Nimboo ka Achar’ & an ice cold ‘Lassi’. I like ‘Keema Muttar’ too.

TNT: What is your favorite quote?

Taz: ‘The more generous we are, the more joyous we become.

The more cooperative we are, the more valuable we become.

The more enthusiastic we are, the more productive we become.

The more serving we are, the more prosperous we become.’

TNT: What is your biggest passion, biggest desire and biggest expectation?

Taz: My biggest passions are music, wildlife and deep sea diving. My biggest desire is to see the world at peace and to see the end of poverty in the world, especially when there is enough food to go round for everyone. I don’t have any expectations as such.

TNT: What are your favorite pastimes?

Taz: It’s partying till I drop in. Plus I love shopping. I also love cooking for friends and family.

TNT: What was the most memorable moment for you?

Taz: Being there at the birth of my three kids.

TNT: What acts as your source of learning?

Taz: Life itself, sharing experiences with others, traveling the world and embracing different cultures / music and the way people live.

TNT: What kind of people you hate and admire?

Taz: I hate people who hate others for being successful. I hate lazy people who want everything in life but cannot be asked to get off their backside to do anything about. Instead their life is spent looking and getting jealous at the success of others. I admire people who sacrifice their own life to help and give happiness to others. Making a difference in someone else’s life is when the world smiles back at you.

TNT: What is your biggest strength?

Taz: I’m invincible and it’s with this conviction, self belief and energy that helps me to sustain my success.

TNT: Share a few words on your new album and what languages do you enjoy singing in?

Taz: ‘DESI & U KNOW IT’. I enjoy singing all the languages because music itself is a universal language.

TNT: What is your message to readers and your fans?

Taz: I want to thank each and every one of my fans for all their love and support in all these years. You have always believed in me and stood by my side. Thank you for putting me on this pedestal that I’m on today. It is all because of God’s blessing and the support of my fans that I am here today. Thanks once again!
