Karachi: Pakistani journalist and film maker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s documentary ‘Saving Face’ has been nominated for Oscar award in the ‘best documentary (short subject)’ category, here on Tuesday.
Ms Chinoy is the first pakistani nominated for an Oscar so far and her film is about two women of Punjab who got victims of acid violence.
She has also worked in 14 films for major networks in US and Britain. Children of the Taliban, The Lost Generation, and Afganistan unveiled are her famous films. She is one of the founders of Citizens Archive of Pakistn, an NGO that works for promotion of culture and history of Pakistan.
