Melbourne: India made 214 runs for the loss of three wickets in their first innings against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground at the end of second day of the first Test match on Tuesday.
Rahul Dravid is 68 not out with nightwatchman Ishant Sharma yet to score.
Little Master Sachin Tendulkar and Dravid added 117 for the third wicket before Siddle took an important wicket of Tendulker in the final over of the day.
Tendulkar rarely looked troubled by the bowlers and hit eight fours and one six, which was a glorious upper-cut off Siddle’s bowling over slips from the first ball after tea.
Gaumtam Gambhir not performed well and was out only on 3 runs. While Virender Sehwag provided India a solid start before Pattinson picked up his wicket.
The hosts still trail the Australian first innings score by 119 runs.
Australian bowlers James Pattinson, Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle have picked one wicket each so far.
Earlier, Australian first innings came to an end at 333 runs. Ed Cowan remained the highest scorer for Australia with his 68 runs.
Zaheer Khan picked up four wickets while Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped three wickets each.
