Islamabad: The world’s largest social media website Facebook is under cyber attack in Pakistan.
Many Pakistani users from Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar and Lahore has said that “recent attack of the unknown virus has forced many to close down their Facebook accounts”.
The News Tribe’s technology correspondent from Pakistan confirmed that there are speculations that many users lost their social site’s accounts after hacking by unknown hackers but no stats available.
“The users facing conversion of facebook into YouTube and suddenly his account disappeared from browser, he or she want to sign in again but there will be no loading” sad Inam, a facebook power user from Islamabad while talking to The News Tribe.
Another user Afrah Kamran from Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan claimed that “this attack is not on Facebook it is on users”. She further told that her brother lost his account when he was using social site at Friday afternoon.
This was also happened in mid of November when social website administration admitted that Facebook under cyber attack that deluged users in vile porn and horror images – but says it is ‘working to improve its systems’
At that time Facebook users were flooded with violent and pornographic photographs after an attack by hackers, a spokeswoman for the social networking site confirmed.
Thousands of users around the world were confronted with the videos and images some of which were doctored to show pornographic pictures of celebrities including teen star Justin Bieber.
Facebook didn’t confirmed recent attack.
