London: The former military ruler of Pakistan General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf said that the agreement to handover Shamsi airbase to US was not written rather it was a verbal understanding.
Talking to a local private TV channel the former military dictator, who had handed over the airbase to the US after the 9/11 terror attacks, said that all the issues regarding the airbase with US were settled verbally, therefore, the base could be vacated from US.
He said that if Pakistan had not given the facility to the US, India would have offered its air facilities to the US.
It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan, following the last weekend NATO airstrike that killed 24 soldiers, has asked the US to vacate the airbase
