Peshawar: A US drone fired missiles in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region, killing at least nine people and injuring several others, sources said on Thursday.

Official sources confirmed the attack and said more casualties were feared.

Local sources said that a US spy plane fired barrage of missiles on a residential compound in Badam Shah Kilay area of Shawal in North Western.

Relations between Pakistan and the United States have been at the lowest  since a series of allegations by top US civilian and military officials against Pakistan especially its security establishment including Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).

Pakistan has long been opposing the drone strikes, declaring them counterproductive.
