Islamabad: We have heard and read many times in the past about top ten richest people of the world, but here we will talk about the ten richest people of Pakistan.
01: Mian Muhammad Mansha
At the top, we have Mian Muhammad Mansha who has assets exceeding $2.5 billion in value. He has around 40 companies including the MCB Bank, one of the five largest banks of the country. He also owns Dera Ghazi Khan Cement, the second largest cement company of the country. His other businesses include textiles and insurance. He doesn’t like to show off, say his friends.
02: Asif Ali Zardari
President Asif Ali Zardari is at number 2 with $1.8 billion assets. He was the husband of late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. He has 8 prime properties in UK, a multi-million dollars mansion in USA and huge stakes in sugar mills all over Pakistan.
03: Sir Anwar Pervaiz
The third is Sir Anwar Pervaiz, who has $1.5 billion assets. He is the Chairman of Bestway Group which was established in 1976. It has diverse business interests including cement, banking and retail stores.
04: Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif
Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif are at number four. The worth of their assets tops $1.4 billion. They are politicians and businessmen. They own a foundry in the country.
05: Saddaruddin Hashwani
Saddaruddin Hashwani has assets worth more than $1.1 billion. He has investments in mines, minerals, hotels, insurance, construction, engineering and IT businesses.
06: Nasir Schon
Nasir Schon and his family has assets worth $1 billion. He is head of Schon Group.
07: Abdul Razzaq Yakoub
Abdul Razzaq Yakoub, popularly known as ARY, and family have assets whose value cross $1 billion. He is the president of ARY group which has stakes in gold business and electronic media in the country.
08: Rafiq Habib and Rasheed Habib
Rafiq Habib and Rasheed Habib occupy the 8th position. They have assets worth 720 million dollars. It is said that they own 100 companies throughout the world. This group gave a cheque of Rs80 million to the penniless government of Pakistan in 1948.
09: Mr. Farooqui
Mr. Farooqui having assets worth $400 million has been the Sindh Minister for local bodies.
10: Mr. Imran
Imran is a businessman who has kept his surname secret for business purpose. He has assets worth 250 million dollars. His residence in Islamabad is one of the most luxurious place.
