‘Sir how many activities are left’ he asked me. I replied two more. “No sir! please includes some more.
Sir! I am enjoying. Sir, these are totally different from our daily routine games. Here we are learning life changing experiences. These are challenging our self and stretching us to unleash our hidden potentials”. These are the comments from one of a trainee of a 2-day Teens leadership development workshop.
Teen age is the most powerful age in which youth enjoy and brave a new world as they started to feel some liberty. Their physical developments engross them into learning activities physically. This is the crucial stage, which our educator, trainer and parents can and should wisely use fort the benefits of the youths.
It is our experience working with teens, that they are willing to learn if provide better learning and training environment, like experiential learning methodology. It is the most effective training tool, which is being used most western educator and trainers for grooming and educating youths, leading to nourishment and flourishing of their hidden potentials.
Unfortunately, our education intuitions ignore this reality and facing giant behavioral problems. They really missing an opportunity to make learning more fun. Learning through fun lead to greater involvement of students in the learning activities.
Students losing interest in traditional methodology of only class rooms instruction which ultimately leading to rebellion in many cases. In traditional methodology, we make the students to set for 5 hours. How it is possible for a boy/girl to sit on a woody disk for 5 to 6 hours. If he/she shows some signs of movement we start to treat them undisciplined.
In our training session these teens, which are marked as undisciplined and rebellion, behave like a matured and trained leaders because we encourage them to take charge of their learning by applying active participatory approach. They play game and learn leadership skills. They participate in activities and develop and polish their creative and innovative skills. In contrast of the traditional methodology, the experiential learning methodology encourages students to groom and polish their potential and explore their hidden potentials.
Time comes for a radical change in our attitude towards educating young minds. We need a paradigm shift and need to opt for instructions centered to experiential learning methodologies. Our educator and all those who are involve in educating and imparting must grasp the change.
Please try to listen what students are whispering
” No more sitting please Sir/Madam”
